Melissa is not only a gorgeous woman, but a wonderful friend. We’ve known each other for years and years, so I was overjoyed when she agreed to shoot a little boudoir with me. She’s an activist and a feminist and a wonderful listener, and just one of the most thoughtful people I know. It was a treat to be able to capture her outer beauty when her inner beauty is so apparent to everyone who knows her, and of course our little coffee date after the session made waking up before sunrise extra worth it (along with the gorgeous images we captured).

This session was very exciting for me not only because I love shooting boudoir, but also because this was my first outdoor boudoir session. The most important lesson I learned– outdoor boudoir requires a little bit of adventurous spirit and some bug spray! Poor Kate was a champ and ignored the bugs, mud, and (possible) poison ivy long enough for us to capture these gorgeous images.
